Trim Levels
The 2019 Jeep Cherokee comes in seven different trims, and each one has both a front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configuration except the Trailhawk and Trailhawk Elite which only come in four-wheel drive. The base model is called the Latitude and starts with 17-inch steel wheels, LED lamps across the board, power-heated mirrors, body-color mirrors and door handles, and chrome grille surrounds. The Latitude Plus has 17-inch aluminum wheels and the option to add a sunroof. The Altitude comes with 18-inch gloss black alum wheels and gloss black grille surrounds, while the Trailhawk has 17-inch polished alum wheels, off-road wheel flares, all-terrain tires, and accent-color roof rails and grille surrounds. The Limited edition sports 18-inch aluminum wheels, body-color exterior mirrors, chrome grille surrounds, and a windshield wiper de-icer. The Trailhawk Elite is similar to the Trailhawk but adds convenience features such as a foot-activated liftgate and windshield wiper de-icer. The Overland most closely resembles the Limited but adds 19-inch polished aluminum wheels, the foot-activated liftgate, and a few other exterior modifications.
Engine
There is a standard 2.4-liter I-4 MultiAir engine in all of the front-wheel-drive versions trims except the Overland which comes standard with a 3.2-liter V-6. The V-6 is also standard in the four-wheel-drive Trailhawk, Limited, and Trailhawk Elite. Most of the trims offer a 2.0-liter turbo option as well.
Performance
The 2019 Cherokee provides excellent performance. The Jeep Active Drive I system is standard on several trims, and it is designed to allow drivers to choose the traction needed for the current driving conditions. In the Trailhawk trims, the Active Drive II system comes standard, which is great for extra-low-speed traction. All of the trims and configurations can tow up to 2,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Interior
Comfort is as important as performance in the 2019 Cherokee. The front row of the Limited and Overland trims are heated, while Limited owners enjoy leather-trimmed bucket seats. The Limited and Overland trims also come standard with dual-zone climate controls. In terms of connectivity, all 2019 Cherokees have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available. The Latitude and Altitude come with UConnect 4 with a 7-inch display, while the Trailhawk, Limited, and Overland have the same system with an 8.4-inch display. Built-in navigation is available in every trim except the Latitude and comes standard on the Overland.
Safety Features
Jeep understands that safety is important when you are enjoying your adventures, so all of the Cherokee trims have an enhanced accident response system. If the vehicle is in a wreck, it cuts the engine and unlocks doors to allow for a quick exit. It also turns on the interior lights and your hazard lights so you can work your way out of the vehicle safely.
